The Eighth Amendment

Lethal Injection caused slow death
"Excessive Bail shall not be required, nor excessive finez imposed, nor cruel and unsual punishments be inflicted.
Constitutional Connection:
Angel Nieves Diaz from Ohio, was given twice a dose of injected chemicals which was said to cause severe pain slowly. This violates the constitution because lethal injection is a way of cruel and unusual punishment. The lethal injections wasnt the only thing that was given to Diaz. He was also given three pills. One that deaden pain the other to paralyze the body and give him a heart attack.
I think that this is a very cruel way on punishing some one. Yes he did kill someone but he was already paying for the consequences in jail. They didnt really have to send him to the death penalty. They could of just let him rot in jail. They actually made him suffer more than once. If i was in his possition i'd rather be killed faster than slower because dying quick you feel only one pain but as in dying slowly it hurts more.

  1. I believe that criminals in jail should not have the death sentence that violates the eight amendment and plus they are going to die anyway in jail if they are in there for life.

  2. If lethal injections are cruel and unsual punishments and is unconstitutional, then why does the U.S. authority use it for their prisoners. You said "This violates the constitution because lethal injection is a way of cruel and unusual punishment" If it was really that cruel then the U.S. goverment would not allow it in the first place, especially for all these years.
